Dan Hess joined PFM in 2001 and is located in the Harrisburg office. Prior to coming to PFM, he served as a senior auditor at the international accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, where his primary responsibilities were providing day-to-day management for governmental, not-for-profit, and financial institution attestation engagements.

In his role as the Manager of Compliance and Financial Reporting at PFM, he is responsible for a variety of accounting and financial reporting functions for local government investment pools managed by PFM and for monitoring PFM's compliance with NASD, MSRB, SEC and state-specific regulations. He is also responsible for preparing financial statements and tax returns for the pools managed by PFM, researching various compliance matters, preparing all regulatory filings for PFM and its broker/dealer subsidiary, overseeing the registration of PFM's registered broker/dealer representatives, and managing the regulatory compliance of the Commonwealth Cash Reserve Fund, Inc., a registered investment company with the SEC under the Investment Company Act of 1940 whose money market fund portfolios are managed by PFM.

Mr. Hess graduated from the Pennsylvania State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting with minor in Management Information Systems. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and holds NASD Series 6 and 63 licenses.
