Alfred joined PFM in 2005 and leads PFM Swap Advisors LLC derivatives monitoring, accounting, and valuations business. He led the creation of SwapViewer®, which oversees reporting on more than $50 billion in swap and derivatives belonging to more than 100 different tax-exempt and municipal issuers, including general municipal, school districts, public utilities, higher education, and healthcare.
He was part of the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) Derivatives Instrument Advisory Committee, which issued the Derivatives Implementation Guide that provides a comprehensive outline on complying with GASB 53. He provides Accounting Standards Code 820 reporting services for healthcare, higher education, and non-profit clients reporting under Financial Accounting Standards Board.
Prior to joining PFM Swap Advisors LLC, Alfred was trading and marketing derivatives as a Vice President in the Public Finance Group at a regional bank. Prior to that, he was a partner and head of the Structured Finance team at Chatham Financial, the leading taxable derivatives advisor in the nation. Alfred structured, advised, and executed hedging strategies for public and private real estate companies and investors.
