A Message from PFM’s New CEO Dan Hartman

Thirty years ago, I came to PFM as a young college graduate excited about our work and the prospect to help make change.  As the new CEO, I am more excited than ever and I wanted to take this occasion to share some thoughts with clients and employees – both current and prospective.

On December 7th, PFM started a new era in our firm’s history. With the sale of our asset management business, we will now focus primarily on financial advisory and consulting services.

In our financial advisory business and in our consulting business, we work to be a trusted advisor. PFM works with our public and non-profit sector clients to access essential market resources to build schools, roads, public transit, and power systems - effectively all the public infrastructure used to keep our economy moving forward.

Our consulting business works with state and local governments to take on and overcome some of their toughest management and budget challenges.  We have specialized teams focused on financial planning and operational reviews, public sector workforce, human services, and K-12 education. Within the last five years, we have also created both the Center for Justice and Safety Finance and the Center for Budget Equity and Innovation.

For us and for our clients, this is a time of both unprecedented challenges and opportunities.  Our clients are telling us that every day they are being asked to do more to best serve their constituents in a period of uncertainty.  At the same time, there are historic investments being made in infrastructure and other state and local programs and operations.

We stand ready to work with our clients and assist them in taking on their greatest challenges and make the most of these opportunities.

We are ready because of the extraordinary commitment of PFM’s over 300 employees who work across the country; dedicated to serving our public and non-profit sector clients and their communities.  At PFM, our people are our greatest asset.

For current clients and members of the PFM team, we are already hard at work. For prospective clients and employees, now is the time for PFM.
