Donn Hanson serves as a managing director for PFM’s asset management business. In 2001, he joined Cadre Securities which PFM acquired. Donn currently serves as the lead member of the Minnesota marketing team and is responsible for growing and maintaining the firm’s asset management business in Minnesota, North and South Dakota. He has over 30 years of experience working with governmental entities in the Midwest. Donn advises institutional investors on matters related to investment pools, fixed rate investments, cash flow management needs and multi-asset class portfolio strategies.

Prior to joining PFM, Donn was a personal investment advisor with Bremer Investments. He was also chief financial officer for the Minnesota school districts of Princeton, West Central Area and Litchfield for 17 years. His experience in these school districts included budget preparation, managing capital projects, labor management, short- and long-term borrowing and investing and extensive interaction with both school boards and communities.

As part of his commitment to provide excellent client service, Donn and his team feel privileged to promote the Minnesota School District Liquid Asset Fund (MSDLAF+) and the Minnesota Association of Governments Investing in Counties Fund (MAGIC). Collectively, the funds are some of the largest local government investment pools (LGIPs) managed by PFM, an LGIP industry leader.
