John joined PFM in 2015 as part of the Quantitative Strategies Group (QSG) in the Philadelphia office. His core motives include examining the scope of strategic and operational considerations of clients and executing in-depth financial analysis of municipal issuer’s debt portfolios through means of structural optimization, refunding efficiency and complex transactional support. Additionally, John works as a team member for PFM’s municipal investor relations platform. Munite® is a one-stop shop investor relations platform that bridges the gap between the municipal issuer and investor communities, helping to ensure that issuers are optimizing their investor relations outreach when accessing the capital markets to secure funding for critical public projects.
Within the QSG, John has worked on numerous financial modeling engagements, both externally and internally. Specifically within PFM’s thought leadership initiatives, John works closely with ratings agencies as he oversees the firms’ credit calculator suite. In doing so, he has worked with a wide-range of clients on credit assessments, debt capacity studies, and merger and acquisition engagements by providing strategic consulting and stand-alone rating analysis. Additionally, he has been involved with a variety of practices to create customizable models for clients such as the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority and the City of Sacramento. John also contributes financial advisory services to Montgomery County, PA and Penn State University.
