Jon Burmeister joined PFM in 1997 and leads PFM’s Midwest financial advisory business from the Des Moines office. He has more than 20 years of experience advising governmental entities in the Midwest. He has led or provided project management support for PFM engagements within the states of Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri and Nebraska.
Additionally, he has experience with PFM’s State of Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) engagement since 2012. His many advisements for KDOT have included securing a new liquidity agreement with Wells Fargo Bank for $147 million Adjustable Tender Highway Revenue Bonds in 2014; overseeing the termination of KDOT’s constant maturity swap, which resulted in a $5.3 million positive termination; coordinating the negotiated sale with Morgan Stanley of the $250 million Highway Revenue Bonds, Series 2014A, as part of the funding for the Transportation Works for Kansas Program; and assisting KDOT with the refunding of its Series 2002 B&C Variable Rate Demand Notes to floating rate index notes. He also has extensive experience working with the State of Iowa since 2001.
Over the last 18 years, Jon has provided financial advisory services to municipalities in the Midwest, including the City of Des Moines, Iowa; City of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and Loup River Public Power District, Columbia, Nebraska. He has been responsible for the financial planning and execution of general obligation, tax increment, special assessment, public power, telecommunication, storm water, sewer and water debt issues.
